Contrary to reports as recent as this week that a private consortium would start building a monorail in Bangalore by the end of the year, the state minister for urban development said he was not aware of any such project.

The Union government has not received any proposal regarding implementation of Mono Rail in Karnataka. Kumaraswamy met me in New Delhi where we discussed the Metro project. I am not aware of this new proposal and I don’t want to react on the issue.

No wonder nothing gets done.
